Traffic Congestion Mitigation: Eliminate the at-grade intersection between the North-South Railway and 23/10 Street, an area frequently plagued by traffic gridlock during peak hours.

Regional Connectivity: Establish a new North-South traffic route bypassing the city center, connecting the western area of Nha Trang City with 23/10 Street.

Socio-Economic Development: Create a driving force for the socio-economic development of Nha Trang City and neighboring areas, serving as a critical connection point with Ring Road 2.

Traffic Safety Enhancement: Effectively channelize traffic flow and reduce accidents at the railway crossing area.

Large-Scale Project: With a total investment capital exceeding 1,350 billion VND, this stands as one of Khanh Hoa Province’s key transport infrastructure projects.

4-Leg Grade-Separated Interchange: Comprises an elevated roundabout and four overpass branches (N1, N2, N3, N4) connecting four directions, forming an elevated circular configuration.

Strategic Location: Situated at the intersection of the North-South Railway and major arterial roads (23/10 Street and 19/5 Street), providing connectivity to Ring Road 2.

Implementation Schedule:

  • Commencement Date: Q4 2017

  • Original Scheduled Completion: November 2019 (24-month duration)

  • Extensions Granted: 5 times (revised completion date: April 2026)

Achieved Progress:

  • September 2023: Officially opened to traffic 3 out of 4 branches (N1, N2, N3) and the elevated roundabout; achieved 79% of the work volume.

  • Current Status: Completed 38/43 bridge piers (88%); commissioned and put into traffic operation.

Outstanding Issues / Constraints:

  • Branch N4 (Northern side): Construction is pending due to site clearance obstacles (only 56% of the site area has been handed over).

  • Project Status: The project was suspended in February 2024 and is scheduled for resumption in March 2025.
